Santa Claus Village is in Rovaniemi, in northern Lapland. It is one of the most popular places for visitors who want to feel the Christmas atmosphere at any time of the year.
The village is a few kilometres from the city centre. You can walk around the themed area, cross the Arctic Circle line and visit Santa’s official post office. From there, you can send postcards with a special Arctic Circle stamp.
Of course, the main attraction is meeting Santa Claus himself. Many families come just for this moment. There are also shops, cafés and many places to take photos, so most people spend at least half a day there.
The village is open to everyone, from families with children to adults who simply want to experience a bit of childhood magic again. Entry to the area is free, but many activities and attractions cost extra. It is a good idea to plan your visit in advance and leave enough time for exploring, shopping and sending your postcards.
