7-DAY ARCTIC LUXURY ADVENTURE

7-DAY ARCTIC LUXURY ADVENTURE

Seven days and six nights in Vidsel. We pick you up at the airport, you live in a house with its own sauna, we cook, and our driver takes you everywhere. What you do on which day, we decide together the evening before, depending on the weather.

Dates and group

7 days, 6 nights, any dates from November through April

Groups of 2 to 8. One Luxury group at a time.

On the snow

Three snowmobile tours of three hours each, or several shorter rides if you prefer. We ride the trails that local people use, well away from routes laid out for visitors.

A dog sled ride with huskies from a kennel that takes proper care of its dogs.

Snow tubing. On a lake nearby, we tow the tubes behind a snowmobile on a long rope across the ice.

On the ice and on foot

A walk on the frozen Baltic Sea. In a proper winter, the ice holds for kilometres.

A drive on the ice roads, straight across the frozen sea.

A visit to the Storforsen rapids, one of the most powerful stretches of white water in Scandinavia.

Walks on local trails, as long or as short as your party wishes.

At night

An aurora chase. The northern lights keep no schedule, so we watch the sky and the forecast for you. When they appear, we collect you and drive out. Some nights bring a thin green band; on others, the whole sky moves.

The animals we visit

A visit to a reindeer farm that looks after its weaker animals through the hard season.

We choose only places where, in our judgement, the animals are well treated. That applies to the reindeer and to the huskies alike.

Your house

A house with its own sauna. Groups of 2 to 8 guests.

The houses belong to local companies near Vidsel with whom we work. We reserve the house on your behalf and settle with the owner.

Each house sleeps six to eight.

We take one Luxury group at a time. That week, our whole team works for you.

Dining

Full board, prepared with ingredients from the region.

Allergies or particular preferences? Let us know before you arrive, and we will plan accordingly.

Driver and concierge

Our car and driver are at your disposal throughout your stay, from the airport on arrival to the airport on departure.

One concierge looks after you from the first day to the last. Whatever you need, you ask one person.

How we plan

Weather in Lapland is hard to predict, and forecasts are often wrong. Before you arrive, therefore, we agree which activities your stay includes, but not the day on which each one takes place.

Each evening, we decide the following day together. You go out when conditions are right and stay in when they are not.

A candid word

These are real activities, and they carry some risk.

Snowmobiling is physical. Falls happen. We take every care that nobody is hurt, although the occasional bruise is possible. First-time riders should also expect sore muscles the next day.

On the snow tubes, tipping over is expected. At their fastest, the tubes may knock into one another at 15 to 20 km/h. Even so, we keep it safe throughout.

Included on every ride

  • Snowmobiles with heated handlebars and footrests
  • Warm winter suits
  • Helmets, goggles, gloves and balaclavas
  • Fuel
  • A local guide on every tour
  • Safety training before you ride

Guests and requirements

  • Drivers must be 18 or older and hold a valid category A or B driving licence.
  • A Swedish snowmobile licence is not required. Riding with our guide covers it.
  • Every driver completes a short skills check during the safety training.
  • Passengers ride from the age of 6. Guests under 18 ride as passengers with an adult.
  • Children under 6 do not ride the snowmobiles, without exception.
  • Each snowmobile carries two, so guests without a licence ride as passengers.
  • Please tell us about any joint, back or bone condition before booking, as it may rule out or limit some activities.

When to come

Seven days and six nights, on dates of your choosing between November and April.

The stay can be shortened, extended or given further activities. Write to us, and we will arrange it with you.

Looking for a shorter stay, or one without full board and a driver? See the 3-Day Arctic Weekend, the 5-Day Arctic Escape or the 7-Day Arctic Week. To plan your own days, see Individual Tours.

Additional nights, meals and activities are priced with you when we plan your stay.

Snow is most reliable from December to March. In November and April, conditions depend on the weather.

Arrival

Luleå Airport (LLA) is 1 hour 20 minutes from Vidsel, and Skellefteå Airport (SFT) 2 hours 10 minutes. Both are approximate winter driving times.

Send us your flight times, and we will meet you.

Drinks

Soft drinks are served with meals, subject to availability and your preferences.

On the way from the airport, we stop at Systembolaget in Älvsbyn, so you can choose your own wine. We plan the dinners around it.

In Sweden, anything stronger than 3.5% is sold only at Systembolaget, the state shop. Vidsel has none; however, the Tempo shop in the village sells beer up to 3.5%.

Systembolaget in Älvsbyn, Skolgatan 27, lies on the road from both airports. It is open Monday to Friday 10:00 to 18:00 and Saturday 10:00 to 14:00, and closed on Sunday.

Price

2190€ per adult, tax included, for 3 to 8 guests. That is about 313€ a day for your house, sauna, meals, driver, guide and every activity.
2570€ per adult when you travel as two.
1752€ per guest aged 13 to 17 (20% off).
1533€ per guest aged 6 to 12 (30% off).
1095€ per child under 6 (50% off).

The price covers seven days and six nights.

Children under 6 do not ride the snowmobiles. Everything else is open to them: the huskies, the reindeer, the snow tubes, the ice and the sky.

From three guests, the price per person does not depend on the size of your party.

Weather guarantee. If the weather keeps us off the snow, we move the ride to another day of your stay. If that is not possible, we offer you another activity in its place. If you prefer not to take it, we refund those hours.

Included this winter: a one-minute film of your week, cut by Martin from your helmet cameras; dinner at the hermit’s cabin deep in the forest; and in December, you choose and cut your own Christmas tree in our forest.

Booking and payment

Your deposit is the accommodation part (1,080€ per house) plus 30% of the rest of the price. It secures your dates. You can also pay the full price when you book.

The houses belong to local companies with whom we work, and we pay them for your stay in advance. That is why the deposit includes the full accommodation part.

The balance is paid by card on the day of arrival.

Guests need their own travel and activity insurance covering everything booked with us.

Cancellation

Your price has two parts, and each part follows its own cancellation terms.

Accommodation: 1,080€ per house. Because the houses belong to local companies with whom we work, this part follows the owners’ own terms:

  • 61 days or more before arrival: free of charge
  • 60 to 43 days before arrival: 324€ per house
  • 42 to 15 days before arrival: 648€ per house
  • 14 to 8 days before arrival: 864€ per house
  • 7 days or less before arrival, or no-show: 1,080€ per house
  • If the house is let again for your dates, the fee falls to 150€
  • A change of dates is possible up to 7 days before arrival for 100€, if a house is available

Everything else (tours, meals, driver and concierge) follows the FulleRulle terms:

  • Cancel 14 days or more before your start date, and we refund everything you have paid for this part
  • Cancel 13 to 3 days before, and we refund 50% of what you have paid for this part
  • Cancel less than 72 hours before, or do not arrive, and there is no refund
  • If we have to cancel, for example because of severe weather, you receive a full refund or another date

What we need from you to book

  • First and last name, date of birth and country of residence of every guest
  • Telephone number and email of the lead guest
  • Allergies: who, and which
  • Health restrictions, especially joint, back or bone conditions
  • Your dates, airport and flight times, so that we can meet you

Questions guests ask

Can we book if none of us has ridden before?

Certainly. Every tour begins with safety training, and a guide rides with you throughout. Most of our guests are riding for the first time.

May our teenagers drive?

Guests aged 18 and over with a valid licence drive their own snowmobile. Younger guests ride as passengers, join every tour and take over the snow tubes.

What happens if the weather turns?

We move the activity to another day. That is why we plan each evening rather than months ahead. If a ride still cannot happen, we offer another activity, or refund those hours.

Will we see the northern lights?

No one can promise the aurora. We watch for it every night, and we collect you when it appears.

What if someone cannot take part in an activity?

Please tell us before booking, and we will see what can be adjusted.

Can we have a house with a sauna?

Yes. Every Luxury stay comes with a house with its own private sauna.

Can we stay longer, or come for fewer days?

Yes. Write to us, and we will arrange the dates and any further activities with you.

Do we need a car?

No. Our driver collects you from the airport and takes you to every activity.

What should we wear?

We provide suits, helmets, goggles, gloves and balaclavas. For the rest, see what to wear on a snowmobile tour at -25 °C.
