Cold like this rewards good preparation and punishes guesswork. Here is exactly what to bring, and what we already have waiting for you.
What We Provide
We give you a full winter suit, helmet, goggles, gloves, and a balaclava. These are sized for a wide range of body types and fitted before you set off.
What You Should Bring
Bring tall winter boots that cover your ankle, warm wool or thermal socks, and thermal base layers, top and bottom. These three things matter more than almost anything else on the packing list.
The Layering Rule, in Three Sentences
Start with a thermal base layer against your skin. Add a warm mid-layer on top, like fleece or wool. Our suit goes over everything and blocks the wind, so you do not need a heavy outer jacket underneath it.
Glasses, phones and cameras in the cold
If you wear glasses, our goggles are built to fit over them. Phone batteries drain fast in the cold, so keep your phone in an inner pocket, not an outer one, and expect the battery percentage to drop faster than usual. The same goes for cameras: keep spare batteries warm in an inside pocket.
Our Cold Limit
We run our Off-Road Max tour, but not below -25 °C. Below that temperature, the risk to riders goes up faster than the experience is worth, so we pause tours until conditions improve.
What If Someone in the Group Doesn’t Have Winter Boots?
This comes up in almost every group. If someone is missing proper boots, you can usually rent a pair locally before your tour, or pick up a budget pair in Luleå or Skellefteå on your way in. Let us know in advance and we can point you toward the closest option.
