Boden Fortress is a large old military fortress in northern Sweden. Today it is open to visitors as a museum and tourist attraction.
It was built in the early 1900s. The fortress was part of a defence system to protect northern Sweden, important railway lines and other key places from possible attacks from the east.
The fortress includes many forts, cannons and underground rooms built inside the rock. Some parts can be visited on foot or with a guide.
In the past, thousands of soldiers stayed here. The fortress had food supplies, sleeping areas and communication systems.
Today, visitors can see cannons, artillery positions and other military structures. It helps people understand how Sweden planned to defend the country many years ago.
